A Cord of Three Strands

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor:
If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up.
Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?
Though one may be overpowered,
    two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

A Dream and a Vision

Yesterday I had a dream. In my dream, it was 9 a.m. in Los Angeles. People lined up who were my brothers and sisters, yet who I didn’t know. They were strangers doing what they thought was right. A bullet was in my hair like an ornament or a gang symbol. I walked through the crowd but did not join them. They lined up for battle without wisdom.

Later in the day, I had a vision and not in a dream but while I was still awake.

I had a vision of a cord of three strands, but the third strand was tangled, separated from the rest. A hand untwisted the strand, untangled it to join it with the other two into a single cord.

The heart of the Lord aches because his people twist his words. The Lord will untangle the churches that twist them. He will straighten them before they are rejoined with His Spirit. Then the people will have longing in their hearts and will write new songs to the Lord. I will write a song out of the overflow of my heart. Then there will be peace.

This dream and vision came to me in the morning of May 1, 2021, Pacific daylight-savings time.
